Memorial B-17G Flying Fortress Bomber Bucze

This memorial commemorates the 4 American airmen of the B-17G Flying Fortress bomber that was taken down above Bucze on 18 March 1945. All four died in the crash. The text on the memorial (in 3 languages) reads:

"IN MEMORY OF THE AIRMEN OF THE AMERICAN
BOMBER B-17 G No. 43 - 38600 FROM THE 390 Th
BOMB GROUP OF THE US ARMY
KILLED IN ACTION ON MARCH 18 TH, 1945.

RICHARD C. BERRYMAN - pilot
NORMAN B. DAHLIN - tail gunner
LESLIE C. CHAVET - radio operator
MICHAEL J. Jr. RILEY - waist gunner
