Memorial Wellington Bomber Chipping Warden

This memorial commemorates the five killed crew members of the Wellington bomber (serial number: LP286), of the No. 12 Operational Training Unit, who crashed here on 18 April 1945. Only 1 crew member survived the crash.

The wooden monument has since been replaced by a plaque.
