Sergeant (Obs.) Penry Llewelyn Thomas, 10/05/1940, 563934, age 27

On May 10, 1940 at 1530 departed from Rosières-en-Santerre airbase in France, the Bristol Blenheim L9245 for a reconnaissance flight. The aircraft was shot down over the Netherlands by the German fighter Oblt. Emmerich Fluder and crashed into the village Echteld, all three crew members were killed. One crew member was buried here because he was not found untill a few days later, the other two were buried in Hoek van Holland.
