Shipwreck "Iro"

This shipwreck is from the Japanese navy fleet oiler "Iro". The ship was sunk by the U.S. submarine "Tunny" on 31 March, 1944, during Operation Desecrate One.

The "Iro" today:
It lies currently at the bottom of the sea at a depth of 40 meters (132f). It can be reached by diving with diving equipment.

This shipwreck is still considered to be the last resting place for killed Japanese seamen and soldiers. While diving at this site, please treat human remains and their personal belongings with respect.
