Maginot Line - Ouvrage Gordolon

Gordolon is a gros ouvrage built between November 1931 and the end of 1936 as part of the Secteur fortifié des Alpes-Maritimes.
The armament consisted of four double machine guns, a 47mm anti-tank gun, four 81mm mortars and two 75mm mortars. The special thing about this ouvrage is the fact that it consists of three floors: entrance (ground floor), a mezzanine floor with, among other things, ammunition magazines and command post and the upper floor with the armaments.

In 2021, the association "Friends of Gordolon" started restoration work. In 2023, the ouvrage can be visited on special occasions.
