Remains American Camp Billingford

In an overgrown area, many remains can be foud of an American camp from World War II, mainly of Nissen huts or Quonset houses.

The camp belonged to the USAAF 100th Bomb Group, which flew from RAF Thorpe Abbotts. There were many of those camps and eacht camp was home to 2000-3000 airmen.

The camps were commonly known as 'The Fields of Little America'.
