Memorial Crash Hampden Bomber

Text on the plaque:
This plaque commemorates the sacrifice of
the crew of a Hampden bomber of 144 Sqdn.
which crashed near this spot on 14th April 1942

This twin engne bomber (serial no AT110) had
taken off from North Lutham (Rutland) to
bomb Dortmand Germany. The full reason why
it crashed here may never be known.
The crew were:

Pilot Sergeant S.W.C. Culmur
Crew Sergeant R.E. Nation
Sergeant J.A. Hutchison
Sergeant D. Manning
