The Blue Star Memorial Highways, created by The National Garden Clubs, Inc., are a living memorial to commemorate fallen American soldiers, firstly from World War II, but nowadays also from other wars.

In total, there are more than 70,000 miles of Blue Star Memorial Highways, marked by special signs.
