Commonwealth War Graves St. John Churchyard

Cleator Moor (St. John) churchyard contains three burials of the Second World War.

Gunner Thomas Cornthwaite (34), Royal Artillery
Serjeant George Gillbanks (22), Border Regiment
Gunner Thomas Hardisty (39), Royal Artillery

Gillbanks is buried in a common grave, together with Leading Aircraftman Albert Higgin. They were brothers in law.

There are also 4 graves from World War I.
