On April 11, 1940 late in the evening, departs from the airbase Hemswell, the Handley Page Hampden P1326 with a bombing mission to the town of Mönchengladbach in Germany. The aircraft was hit by a Flak anti aircraft gun over Belgium, three of the four crew members left the plane with a parachute, the aircraft crashed down later in Finneveaux. In the crash, one crew member was killed, he is buried in this cemetery, the other three crew members survived the crash. Two of them died later during the war in other crashes.
