Peace Chapel Ruiselede

This chapel has been erected in memory of the liberation of Ruiselede (8 September 1944) by the First Polish Armored Division. In the Aalterstraat, retreating German soldiers attacked the advancing Poles. The result: 5 Polish soldiers died during the fight.

In the chapel are 2 plaques in memory of the fallen citizens. There are also the 5 original graves plaques, from the Polish cemetery of Lommel, from the 5 Polish soldiers who died in Ruiselede.
