Hôtel Majestic

Hotel Majestic was purchased by the State in 1936 and assigned to the Armaments Directorate of the Ministry of War. From October 1940 to July 1944, the hotel housed the Militärbefehlshaber in Frankreich (MBF), which was commanded by cousins Otto and Carl-Heinrich von Stülpnagel. There was fighting here during the liberation of Paris in 1944. Captured high ranking German officers were imprisoned here after the Battle of Paris (19-25 August 1944).
