Shotly after the Germans took control of Cracow, this square was renamed to 'Adolf Hitler Platz' and was used for propagana purposes. Allied planes shot above Poland were brought to this square for display.

The sign of the 'Adolf Hitler Platz' can be seen in the museum at the Oscar Schindler facotry.
