German Bunker Koehoal Tzummarum

During the Second World War, the Germans built a position on the seawall at Tzummarum that was part of the Atlantic Wall.
The Atlantikwall was a German defense line that had to prevent an Allied invasion.

The bunker had fallen into serious disrepair and recently it has been completely restored to its original state.

If you go over the dike, you can still see a flattened piece of meadow where the German cannons originally stood. The other bunkers and shelters of this position have all been removed.
