Earhart Light (Kamakaiwi Field)

This construction ("Earhart Light") was part of Kamakaiwi Field on Howland Island during the Second World War. Kamakaiwi Field was bombed on 8 December 1941 by 14 Mitsubishi G3M bombers, damaging the airstrip and killed two people. Kamakaiwi Field and "Earhart Light" were repaired after the war.
