Memorial Assembly Camp Hergelsmühle

At this place was from 1928 a barracks for the homeless. From July 1941 to July 1942, this barrack was used as an assembly camp for Jews from Brand, Broichweiden, Haaren, Kohlscheid and Würselen, before they were deported to extermination camps.

The plaque in the pavement is part of the project "Wege Gegen Das Vergessen" (Ways Against Forgetting).
