Wanping Fortress

This fortress was defended by Chinese forces during the 'Marco Polo Bridge Incident' (7 - 9 July 1937) against Japanese assaults. This incident was the marker for the start of the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937–1945).

The south wall of the Wanping fortress was battered by grenade impacts and these are preserved these days.
