Stumbling Stones Kamp 46

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
Anita Dusbaba (born 1942, murdered in Auschwitz on 29-3-1943)
Ferdinand Dusbaba (born 1941, murdered in Auschwitz on 22-4-1944)
Heidelinde Dusbaba (born 1943, murdered in Auschwitz on 19-7-1943)
Anna Schmidt (born 1906, murdered in Auschwitz on 24-7-1943)
Berthold Ferdinand Schmidt (born 1935, murdered in Auschwitz)
Karl-Heinz Schmidt (born 1935, murdered in Auschwitz)
Violetta Schmidt (born 1942, murdered in Auschwitz on 1-4-1943)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
