Stumbling Stones Kampstraße 26

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
Philipp Rosenfeld (born 1856, murdered in Theresienstadt)
Paula Rosenfeld (born 1870, murdered in Theresienstadt on 6-1-1943)
Benjamin de Jonge (born 1873, murdered in Auschwitz on 15-5-1944)
Samuel de Jonge (born 1903, murdered in Warschau)
Sara de Jonge (born 1881, murdered in Auschwitz on 15-5-1944)
Eva Rosenfeld (born 1899, suicide on 27-7-1942)
Emil Kahn (born 1893, murdered in Buchenwald)
Käthe Kahn (born 1905, faith unknown)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
