German Bunkers Framecourt (St.Pol-Nuncq Airfield)

These German bunkers from the Second World War can be seen on the right side of the road between Frévent and Framecourt. The Gefechtsstand bunkers were part of the airfield that was located here between 1939 and 1963. In 1963 the airport had completely disappeared.

St.Pol-Nuncq airfield was used by the Allies in the May days of 1940, after which it was taken over by the German army. The airfield was bombed at least once by the Allies. The airfield was decommissioned by the German army in January 1944.
