York Army Museum

The collection covers the history of two famous Yorkshire Regiments, both raised in 1685 by King James II. Displays of uniforms, badges, medals, silver, weapons, trophies, pictures and photographs illustrate the lives and service of both regiments over a period of 300 years. The museum is located in the same building as that of the Royal Dragoon Guards.

The museum also tells the story of the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards from 1685 when six Troops of Horse were raised for service under King James II and continues up to amalgamation with the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards to form the present Royal Dragoons Guards.
