Fort Busa Verle

This Austro-Hungarian fort was constructed from 1907 to 1914. It was armed with ten (heavy) guns and 15 heavy machine guns. Fort Busa Verle was damaged by Italian artillery fire in 1915. It was also twice attacked by Italian infantry that year. The fort fired 20.000 shells on the Italian positions during the First World War. Fort Busa Verle lost its strategic significance in 1916.

Thirteen garrison members were killed in the fighting for the fort. It was stripped of its metal in the '30s.
