War Memorial Méan

The war memorial at the municipal school in Mean commemorates the military and civilian victims, veterans, resistance fighters, deportees, and prisoners of the Second World War.
The inscription on the monument (translation) :
"1940 - 1945 / TO HIS MARTYRS / PRISONERS / FIGHTERS / DEPORTEES / RESISTANCE FIGHTERS"
"THE MUNICIPALITY OF MEAN GRATITUDE"

Memorial on the facade of the municipal school in Mean commemorating a military and a civilian victim, the veterans and deportees of the First World War.
The inscription on the monument (translation) : "THE MUNICIPALITY OF MEAN / TO ITS GLORIOUS DEFENDERS / 1914-1918"

Behind the monument is a memorial to Eugène COUGNET, who died in deportation and was a Righteous Among the Nations and risked his life to save 40 Jewish children from extermination by the Nazis.
