Fourteen soldiers are buried in a plot of honor at the municipal cemetery in Malmedy. Until World War I, Malmedy was still part of the German Empire. After World War I, it was ceded to Belgium as part of Germany's reparations under the Treaty of Versailles.
They include four French soldiers and ten Russian soldiers.

QUITTELIER Albert, age 28, born in Rebaix (Belgium!, department Henegouwen-Hainaut), soldier with the 294th Infantry Regiment, 294th RI), died in the hospital in Maldemy on October 21, 1914, from wounds sustained in battle.
WEINS Charles, age 38, born in Paris, soldier with the 16th Territorial Infantry Regiment (16e RIT), died in the hospital in Maldemy on October 13, 1914, from wounds sustained in battle.
