Jewish Monument Hoogeveen

The monument is a representation of a hand with swastika, trying to hold on a rising female figure. The woman holds a child above her head, so that it is unreachable by the hand. The pavement was constructed in the shape of a Star of David.

The text on the middle plaque reads:

THE NAMES of our fellow citizens
Who were killed BECAUSE THEY
JEW WERE. MANY GOT NO GRAVE,
ONLY HERE a memorial.
REMINDER TO THEM AND THEIR FATE
REMAINS OF OUR LIVES.

On the right and left plate are the names of 165 Jewish war victims from Hoogeveen applied.
