Saint-Remy-la-Calonne German War Cemetery

This German war cemetery was established during the First World War.

This is the German campaign cemetery of 1914-1918 in JR19 VON COURBIERE:
More than 500 German soldiers from various infantry and grenadier regiments were buried in this cemetery, the largest in the Calonne trench.
The exhumation of the bodies took place in the 1920s, after which the bodies were transferred to Troyon and Viéville sous les Côtes.
The few still existing steles serve as a reminder of this tragic past.
The excavations are still visible today.
