Memorial Death March Störkanal

On 2 May 1945, the death march from Sachsenhausen ended here. The 18,000 survivors of the march were then freed by allied troops. Often this is mistakenly mentioned as being Russian troops, but the Russians arrived later in July. This memorial commemorates those who died during this march.
