Ossuary French Soldiers Pederobba

This ossuary contains the remains of 863 French soldiers who fell in the fighting for the Monte Tomba on 30 December 1917. On a plaque it is mentioned that 1000 French soldiers are buried here. The inauguration was on 27 June 1937. According to Petain: The inauguration of the cemetery is a reply to the Italian cemetery at Bligny and shall be a new and moving testament of the friendship between Italy and France which is sealed by the blood that has been shed side by side.
