On the plaque is the text:

In memory of the war years 1940 - 1945
where the resistance Gaastmeer
risking their lives, the crew of the
Halifax Stavoren made it to Gaastmeer,
and in our village was a shelter for
them on October 16, 1944 to April 17, 1945
