Monument of Gratitude

The Monument of Gratitude in Lemmer is a mural of the village, surrounded by a group of angels and doves. Above the village is the weapon of Lemmer shown. The fresco is a sculpture group of chamotte clay, placed on an oak pedestal. The group picture is a representation of the apparition of Mary to three young children. On either side of the image is a wrought iron candle placed.

On a ribbon is the inscription:

Monument of gratitude dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima in which the port of Lemmer during the war 1940 - 1945 was saved from disaster.
