Memorial Forced Labourers Blodveien

During the Second World War, POWs from the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia were used to build roads and railways in the northern part of Norway.

34,000 forced labourers were kept prison in 54 camps.

This memorial commemorates these people and the many who died during the construction of what the forced labourers named the road - the Blodveien (Blood Road).
