Memorial Forced Labourers Arctic Circle

During the Second World War, POW’s from the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia were used to build roads and railways in the northern part of Norway.

34,000 forced labourers were kept prison in 54 camps.

This memorial at the arctic circle commemorates the forced labourers who died.
