Atlantikwall - Batterie H.K.B. 16/974 Grønsvik

Grønsvik (1942-1945) was a German coastal battery north of Stokkvågen in the municipally of Lurøy. Teh battery was mainly built by 100 Russian and 75 Polish POW's. At least 7 Russians died during the construction. The garrison consisted of 150-200 men and the main armanant composed of four 155mm K416(f) guns.

The battery today:
It is currently an open air museum. There is also original barracks standing here. One of these barracks holds an exhibition about the foreign forced laborers that lived and worked here. Admission is free.
