KDF Seebad Prora

The town of Prora and the "Colossus of Rügen" – originally intended to be a seaside resort of the Nazi organisation "Kraft durch Freude" (KdF) – have become well-known during the past few years and are now a must for every-one visiting the island of Rügen.

The KdF-seaside resort Rügen was an important element of the social propaganda of the "Third Reich". As the largest architectural project of the "Third Reich" Prora is of high importance both with its building history and social history. It is therefore the starting-point of the exhibition which has been present in the documentation centre since July 2004.
