Fort bij Aalsmeer

The "Fort bij Aalsmeer (Fort at Aalsmeer)", model A, was completed in 1905 as part of the Stelling van Amsterdam (Defence Line of Amsterdam, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site).

The fort was mobilized both in 1914-1918 and in 1940. The Germans built an open emplacement in the fort's front wall. It was likely used for a searchlight or a light anti-aircraft gun. The storage area was reinforced with rails.

Nowaday it houses the CRASH Luchtoorlog- en Verzetsmuseum '40-'45.
