Memorial Massacre Distomo

As a reprisal-measurement after an attack of partisans, Waffen-SS troops of the 4th SS Polizei Panzergrenadier Division went from door to door in Distomo and massacred 218 Greek civilians. This happened on 10 June 1944, within two hours.

Among the victims were babies who were bayoneted in their cribs and the village priest who was beheaded.
