Memorials Gunby Church

In Gunby church is a Roll of Honour and two commemorative plaques for Gunby servicemen of WW1. The text on the first plaque is:
To the Glory of God
and
in grateful remembrance of

J. WALTER PEACOCK
J. WILLIAM SMALLEY
GEORGE WELLS
who gave their lives for
their Country 1914-1918

The text on the second plaque is:
TO THE GLORY OF GOD
AND IN THE MEMORY OF
JAMES WILLIAM SMALLEY
WHO DIED FOR HIS COUNTRY
ON NOV.11 1914 AT YPRES.
I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT
I HAVE FINISHED MY COURSE

FLIGHT LIEUT. THE ROYAL LINCOLNSHIRE REGIMENT AND RAF FIGHTER PILOT. BORN 27 OCTOBER 1919. KILLED IN ACTION OVER ITALY 27 JAN. 1944.
THE BELOVED SONS OF
NORMAN AND THEODORA LEITH-HAY-CLARK.
GREAT GRANDSONS OF CHARLES LANGTON MASSINGBERD AND THE HEIRS OF GUNBY.
