THEUR NAMES SHALL LIVE FOR EVERMORE.


Plaques 156 Battalion
These memorial plaques of 156 Battalion can be found in the St Marys church in Melton Mowbray. The text on the central plaque is:
IN MEMORY OF THE OFFICERS AND MEN OF 156 BATTALION THE PARACHUTE REGIMENT WHO LEFT THEIR STATION IN THIS PARISH ON SEPTEMBER 18TH 1944 TO FLY TO ARNHEM AND THERE DIED IN THE CAUSE OF FREEDOM.
"O VALIANT HEARTS."
