Defensively Equipped Merchant Ships Memorial

This memorial, a Bofors gun, at the National Memorial Arboretum commemorates the Defensively Equipped Merchant Ships in World War II. About 28,000 men were trained as Maritime Royal Artillery gunners for the guns. Of those, 2713 were killed or missing in action.
