Gettysburg National Military Park

Gettysburg National Military Park gives an idea of how this battlefield has been during the American Civil War. The bloody Battle of Gettysburg took place here in 1863. The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point in the Civil War. The attack on the North by the army of the South, led by General Robert E. Lee ended here.

The battlefield is a gathering of cannons, monuments and other artefacts from the Civil War. There is also a museum and a visitor centre. Battlefield tours start from here. The guided tours can be done by foot, by car or bus. You can also get around the battlefield on your own, to do this you could obtain books or CDs in the visitor centre.
