Killing Caves of Phnom Sampeau

In these caves in Phnom Sampeau, a hill 11 kilometers from Battambang in Cambodia, from 1975 to 1979, many people were murdered during the reign of the Khmer Rouge. Other people were murdered outside and thrown in the caves from above.
Today there is a memorial with skulls and bones of victims.
The Khmer Rouge (Khmer Rouge) came to power in 1975 at the end of the Second Indochina War (Vietnam War), with the help of North Vietnam. Research has shown that a total of 1,386,734 people were probably killed by the Khmer Rouge. In addition, there are hundreds of thousands to millions who perished because of the consequences of their policies.
