Fort Queenscliff

Fort Queenscliff was built in 1860. From 1883 until 1946, it was permanently operational.

In the Second World War, Fort Queenscliff was the command centre for several gun emplacements in the surrounding area. From here, the command for the first Allied shot in the Second World War in this region - fired from Fort Nepean - was given.

Since 1982, the fort has been a museum.

For current visiting hours, please visit the website of the museum.
