Japanese Memorial Garden Cowra

In 1960 the Japanese Government was considering the repatriation of their war dead to Japan.

However when they visited the Japanese graves in Cowra, they were so impressed with the standard of care given to those graves they decided to bring all their war dead from other parts of Australia to be reburied at Cowra.

Because of the cemetery, a special friendship developed between Cowra and Japan and this Japanese Garden was established at Cowra.
