Portsmouth Naval Shipyard

The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard was built in 1800 and produced many U.S. warships during both world wars.

Delegations of Japan and Russia signed the Portsmouth Treaty in one of the buildings of the shipyard on 5 September 1905. This treaty ended the Russo-Japanese War.
