Memorial Holyrood Church

This church, for sailors, was destroyed on 30 November 1940 by enemy action. The ruins were preserved as a memorial for the sailors of the merchant navy who were killed in the Second World War.

Tekst on the plaque, on the remains of the Holyrood Church:
The Falkland Islands May - July 1982. This tablet marks the invaluable and heroic service of the Merchant Navy operating out of the Port of Southampton in the campaign to recover The Falkland Islands from occupation by Argentine Forces.
