Museum of Ethnology

The Museum of Ethnology in Leiden has part of the Lombok treasure in her collection. The treasure, which was stolen by the Dutch during the Lombok expedition 1894 was, contained a large number of beautiful jewellery, 200 kg of gold and 7,000 kg of silver. Most of it was returned to Indonesia in the 1970s. Some beautiful pieces were kept behind for display in this museum, including a ring with a 75 carats diamond, known as the Lombok diamond.

The Museum also owns a collection of photos of the Lombok-expedition.
