Balikpapan Port
This port was captured by Imperial Japanese forces on 22 January 1942. It was attacked in May 1945, when PB4Y's of Patrol Bombing Squadron 109 launched two bat glide bombs. This was the first time in history that an 'automatic homing bomb' was used.
