Kamiri Airfield
This airfield was built by the Imperial Japanese Navy during the Second World War. It was captured within a couple of hours after the landings. The Allied forces discovered 30 planes, although most damaged or destroyed by the bombardments. Kamiri Airfield was re-used by the USAAF.
