American Bom Consdorf

This bomb was dropped in October 1944 in a field near Consdorf to unballast a B17F Flying Fortress bomber returning from a mission to Germany. The bomb weighted 907 kg and contained 447 kg of tritonal. It was dug out and defused in 1990 by the mine clearance department of the Luxembourg Army. In 1994 it was displayed as a memorial by the municipality of Consdorf.
