Birth House Armin T. Wegner

This plaque commemorates the well-known poet Armin T. Wegner, who was born here.

In April 1933, he wrote a public letter to Adolf Hitler, in which he clearly protested against the persecution of Jews. For this, he was arrested by the Gestapo and tortured. He spend four months in prisons and concentration camps. After his releasement, he emigrated.

He was awarded by Yad Vashem as Righteous among the Nations.
